NEWS THAT IMPACTS STERILE PROCESSING

The LAS VEGAS SUN is reporting(1/2/09) that an outpatient surgery center has notified state authorities that it failed to properly disinfect instruments it uses during procedures. To read the complete story click on this link http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2008/dec/31/clinic-reports-lapses-disinfection/">Complete Story .

This is just another reason why medical facilities need to verify their cleaning process. To find products that help you verify your cleaning process click on this link. http://www.hmark.com/washertests.aspx">CLEANING VERIFICATION.

The week of June 30,2008 saw two stories that deal with dirty surgical instruments making the Headlines.

The first story is reported by Ann Work from the Times Record News in Witchita Falls, Texas Ann has reported that a Health Care System had to inform over 1,800 patients that the instruments used in their surgeries might not have been cleaned properly. The possible source of the concern “the detergent dispenser”. Just another reason why medical facilities should be testing their medical automatic washers.

The second story dealt with law suits about hyrdaulic fluid being used at an east coast hospital to clean surgical instruments being settled.
